How It Works
01
Deposit Funds
Add money to your RivalPrize wallet via PayPal. Your balance is always yours until a contest is accepted.
02
Find a Contest
Browse open challenges or post your own. Set the game, platform, and entry amount — from $5 to $500 per side.
03
Play Your Game
Connect with your opponent and run the match on your console. We stay out of the way while you play.
04
Collect Your Prize
Both players report the result. Agree on the winner and funds release automatically — minus our 10% entry fee.

Common Questions
Yes — in most of the US. RivalPrize operates as a skill-based contest platform, the same legal
category as daily fantasy sports (DFS) sites like DraftKings and FanDuel. Courts and regulators
distinguish skill-based competitions from gambling because the outcome depends on player ability,
not chance. That said, a handful of states have laws that cover skill contests too, so we can't
currently serve players in Arizona, Iowa, Hawaii, Mississippi, Montana, Nevada, or South Dakota.
Everyone else is good to go.
We charge a 10% entry fee from each player. Put up $50 — $5 goes to us, your opponent puts
up $50 — $5 goes to us. If you win, you collect $90. No subscription fees, no monthly charges,
and no cost to browse or post a challenge. We only make money when a contest completes.
Both players submit the result independently. When they agree, funds release automatically.
If there's a dispute, we ask both players to provide evidence — screenshots, clips, or
recorded gameplay. We have no access to your console or game data, so that documentation
is on you. Take a screenshot of the final score before you back out.
Deposits and withdrawals both go through PayPal. Your balance sits in your RivalPrize wallet
and is yours until you enter a contest — at that point it's locked to that match until it
resolves. New accounts start with a $50 deposit limit while we verify activity; that limit
increases as your account history grows.
